Alumnae Association Board of Directors

The Alumnae Association is governed by its Board of Directors, a group of dedicated alums who serve three-year terms. Several committees, some led by a member of the board, are actively involved in policy and program creation. They include the volunteer experience, classes and reunion, clubs and groups, communications, finance and nominating committees.

The board is a crucial part of the Alumnae Association’s vitality and success, and its members play a pivotal role in our programming and planning. Alums interested in serving on the board of directors or on a committee should send their names to the current Nominating Committee Chair Alessandra Hickson ’09 or to Trisha Tanner ’00, executive director of the Alumnae Association.

Rooted in History

At a time when women were not permitted to be trustees of colleges, Mary Lyon founded the Memorandum Society (the forerunner to the Alumnae Association) to give alums an independent voice and a financial role in the College’s future. In 1923, the Alumnae Association of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå became an incorporated, not-for-profit organization with its own board of directors. There have been 38 alum board presidents over the years.
